...or, Octopus House, is a very private, newly-built gated beachfront house perched on a 30’ dune with stunning views of the Sea of Cortez. A fully air conditioned dream house for anyone looking to relax, listen to the surf, whale watch, surf, explore, and just seeking to get away and experience a truly serene and unique vacation. The architecture and design of the home is clean and modern. Attention to finish and detail while still feeling cozy so that guests feel at home.
The house comes with high-speed internet wifi, smart TVs with Netflix, Amazon Prime, and YouTube. The open concept kitchen, dining, island bar seating, and living area (with gas fireplace) is surrounded by sliding glass doors that open to a deck, pooI, spa (with gas fireplace), sun deck (with gas fireplace), outdoor kitchen, gas grill and full bath with expansive views of the beach and sea. The kitchen has full-size modern appliances with an attached pantry/laundry area with full-size washer and dryer.
Off the living area is a master suite and a private deck overlooking the sea. It comes with a cal king bed, TV, ample closet space and full bathroom. A floating teakwood stairway boasts a landing with a two-story window looking out to the Sea of Cortez leading to the second floor and an identical master suite with a king bed and a private sea view deck. The stairway also leads to another deck with a fireplace and one-of-a-kind views of the beach, surf, and the Sea. From here is access to a third bedroom with endless sea views.
Above the third bedroom is a rooftop terrace with a gas fire pit and 180 degree view of the Sea of Cortez and 360 degree views of the East Cape. Enjoy sea, sunset, and star-gazing views.
Just steps to the beach and with famous surf spots Shipwrecks and La Fortuna just a short walk away. La Fortuna has a wonderful sushi restaurant called Zai Sushi (make a reservation). Enjoy sunbathing and beachcombing afternoons in the warm sun. An AWD rental vehicle is recommended for this location, especially if you plan to do a lot of exploring and activities up the East Cape, however, its not necessary. Access from town to the property is not a problem in any vehicle. Avoid pulling off the road as there might be soft sand. The property manager can help you book private airport transportation,
car rentals, activity planning, and anything else you might need for your stay. Our amazing staff can arrange in-home cooking and cleaning to ensure a truly carefree experience. Additionally, the can arrange services such as airport shuttle, rental car pickup/dropoff, food/beverage packages, Jeep excursions, massage therapy, cooking classes, world-class surfing, whale watching, snorkeling, SCUBA, deep-sea fishing, salt-water fly fishing, catamaran cruising, stand-up paddleboarding, kiteboarding, off
road adventures, and excursions to San Jose Del Cabo, Cabo San Lucas, Todo Santos,
La Ribera, and La Paz. The house is equipped with beach chairs, umbrellas, coolers and towels for a nominal fee.
The drive to downtown San Jose (where all the nightlife, shops, restaurants etc. are located) is less than 30 minutes. Cabo San Lucas is 50 minutes.
We are a 100% off-grid, eco-friendly home. We run completely on solar power, propane gas, a water cistern, and a delicate septic system. We ask that you be mindful of conserving resources. There is plenty of battery power but leaving doors open with air conditioning will likely kick on the backup generator. A fuel surcharge of $100 will be assessed if the generator is used. We provide biodegradable products in each bathroom, please use them. If you wish to use your own products, please check that
they are at least 90% biodegradable as well--we appreciate it. Only flush toilet paper.
Nightly per pet fee is $50 US.
The person that makes the reservation and signs the rental agreement must be 25 years of age or older. Due to the unique design of the house and its proximity to steep dunes, pool, and the ocean we unfortunately don’t allow children under 16 years of age. The rate is for the entire property - no shared spaces (sleeps 6). It is 15 miles (24 km) from San Jose Del Cabo - 13 of those miles (21 km) are paved from town with the last two miles a well-maintained and easily driven hard sand road to the house.
